Responsible Consumers Club

A woman hand carrying a bunch of colorful shopping bagsThe Responsible Consumers Club is an initiative focused on exploring new and innovative ways to encourage individuals to learn more about the products they buy.  It was started when students at Davidson College expressed an interest in learning more about how to become more responsible consumers.  Members of the Club share research they have conducted on different products and explain the decisions they have made based on that research.  The approach is time-delimited, decision-oriented, and designed to be fun, collaborative, easy, and meaningful.  Each month members investigate the validity of different sustainability claims and decide on how important those claims are based on their own values.  The Sustainability Information Laboratory supports this initiative by organizing training workshops and disseminating relevant materials to Club Members.  To learn more about the Responsible Consumers Club, please visit the website: responsibleconsumersclub.com.
